BAD SHOW For the second time in two weeks, something was amiss at CamZ. Only one guest was able to make it in. Others who tried got the message that I wasn't streaming, but I was, at least to the one guest! NO SHOW ON THE FIRST Ernest and I will be at a Hustler-sponsored fund raiser for the Free Speech Coalition (FSC.org), and the red carpet is just at my usual showtime. SHOW ON THE EIGHTH As per usual. |

SOLO SHOW TONIGHT Last week's show was sort of a hoot, as I was virtually alone for the first 40 minutes of the show, while the guys in the tech room worked on the faulty broadcasting. I've decided to do a solo show tonight, so as to avoid any embarrassing problems in front of a guest. Sheesh! Reunion Date Ernest and I have been so busy we've hardly had a chance to play since I've been back from New Zealand. We cleared the decks yesterday and had ourselves a rockin' good time together. No matter how many other people we fuck it's nice to know that we still prefer to fuck each other. Anyone can be fun once or twice, but it takes a special person to be fun for over ten years. It was great fun, full of hot, dirty sex and we both think that ass-fucking will be on the agenda next time. I look forward to that, for sure! Fun Girl Movie My gal pal, Violet, came by the other day and she brought a fun girl's-night-in movie, "Then and Now." Sort of a "Stand By Me" with girls instead of boys, it's a very nice movie without too much schmaltz (it could have gone way overboard, but didn't). Four adult friends are brought back to their home town. They've all gone in very different directions and the bulk of the movie takes place during the summer of 1970, when they're 12 years old. I was 11 that year, so it really hit close to home for me. The art direction was spot on, and the story is sweet. It was made in the mid-90's and the adults are played by Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, Rita Hanks and Rosie O'Donnell. The only child star I recognized was Christina Ricci, who was very good. True Blood I don't know how many of you are fans of "True Blood," on HBO, but it's a fantastic show. Ernest and I aren't really fans of the Vampire genre, but we've gotten hooked on this smart, fun, well-written/cast/acted ensemble drama. I've not read the source material but it doesn't matter. We've now got to track down the first season and watch it, even though we're deep in the, I think, fourth season. Mad Men Ernest and I are also really into "Mad Men," another well-written original show on AMC. HBO turned it down, so there's less nudity and swearing than would otherwise be seen, but I don't miss it. The art direction is top-notch, as has been mentioned elsewhere, and Greta Christina (do a search for her blog) has some insightful things to say about why so many women swoon for the main character, Don Draper, even though he's a heel. I'm with the masses in that I have a serious thing for Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan the office manager. Hubba, hubba, I say! She's build like women are supposed to be built, plus the fact that I have a thing for redheads. For those who're too young to have been alive before the 1970's, you have no idea how stultifying the times were, and "Mad Men" is a good primer on How Things Were Back Then, for women, black people, gay people and non-conformist people. Entourage We also like this show for its very knowing look at the entertainment industry. Sasha Grey is doing very well in her part as the main character's current GF and they've been smart in not having her do a lot of "sex" scenes. Some nudity and suggestiveness, but nothing too R-rated. Clever, I think, in not doing the obvious too soon. Go, Sasha! See you tonight! |
