Another newbie here; I have been just enjoying the show but I saw this thread and thought I'd throw in my comment.

I think it would be great to establish a Nina presence on the iPhone but I wonder whether the idea of an app would work out. I can't think of any advantages. Like you say, Apple is really anti-porn so I can only think that an app would be inviting trouble. The least of it is that you'd constantly be thinking of how to keep your act clean while the intended audience is, of course, looking for porn. after all, Nina is a pornographer and a celebrated one at that.

I propose instead two alternatives that serve as workarounds that avoid the post-modern Hayes code that rules the roost over the Apps.

First, audio: a podcast is listed in iTunes but is not subject to the App store rules and you can talk about most anything. Such a podcast gets an 'Explicit' stamp but that is all.

There are a few good ones I know about. One that would be a good model is a toy store in SF that is half 'reviews' of toys they sell and the other half is interviews with local notables: Madison, Chanta, etc. Uncensored, as far as i can tell.

The other idea is to do a web site as a sub for an app. Once again, they are not in the business of policing web sites--only apps--so the site can show anything you want. Basically, its an end-around the censoring board.

The current www.nina.com is the site for general use. Lets say the iphone version is iphone.nina.com. I'd use a template designed for the mobile Safari browser and look like an app. There are few large sites that have developed iphone versions of their sites and they can be as explicit as the 'regular' site.

I think it would be relatively fun to do since you don't have to code around IE and use HTML5's <video> tag. After all, it would only be used by modern browsers. The other task is to transcode some of the videos to m4v/H.264 so they play on the iPhone. I have done a few of them myself and they, of course, work fine. I have Mika, Shayla, and Nina masturbating on my iphone. This is a great start for an 'app.'

Those 2 ideas effectively get around Apple's disneyish ideas about entertainment.
