Since we have officially turned the corner to May now, and National Masturbation Month is now upon us (yeah, right....like we need a month long celebration for something we can do all year round) I give to you this announcement from Dr. Carol Queen and her newly created non-profit think tank called The Center for Sex and Culture about her upcumming (and cumming, and cumming) fundraiser/mass diddle fest known as the Masturbate-a-Thon:
This is taken directly from the CSC mailing list, of which I'm a member: SAN FRANCISCO’S LIVE MASTURBATE-A-THON PARTICIPANTS SEEK NEW WORLD RECORDS ON MAY 15TH, 2004 May is National Masturbation Month, and for the past several years people have been encouraged to “come for a cause” at the Masturbate-A-Thon: participants get like-minded friends to pledge money for every minute they masturbate on National Masturbation Day, and funds raised are donated to a non-profit that supports sexual health or sex education. Good Vibrations, originator of the Masturbate-A-Thon, and its sister stores have raised over $25,000 for sex-positive charities, and this year will be no exception: pledge forms can be downloaded at www.goodvibes.com to participate. This year’s recipient organization is The Center for Sex & Culture, a young non-profit that seeks to start a sexuality library and archive and which hosts classes and informational cultural events about sex. Good Vibrations’ Masturbate-A-Thons have always been private events; people masturbated in privacy, as most people do. But The Center for Sex & Culture is located in San Francisco, where appropriate venues exist to do usually-private things in public. Hence CSC will sponsor its third annual LIVE Masturbate-A-Thon on May 15th, 2004. Located at 245 8th Street, a space with plenty of room for women and men to gather separately and together, the group Masturbate-A-Thon will feature a women-only room, a men-only room, and mixed space for couples and singles. (Transsexual participants may choose their preferred room according to their own gender identity.) Separate room will be established for a live webcast, and people who enter must sign a release and show ID. No photos will be taken except by permission. A break area with refreshments will also be available. Participants must be 18 and over, and no drugs or alcohol will be allowed. “Besides reminding everyone how central and pleasurable a part of our sex lives masturbation can be, we sponsor the Masturbate-A-Thon because masturbation is one of the safest possible forms of sex,” says Center for Sex & Culture director Dr. Carol Queen. Adds CSC board president Dr. Robert Lawrence, “San Francisco is the original home of public masturbation events. The San Francisco Jacks have been hosting men’s parties since 1983. Mother Goose Jack-and-Jill-Off parties ran from 1987 to 1992. We are pleased to revive this safer sex tradition on behalf of everyone.” Dr. Annie Sprinkle calls it "The single most orgasmic event of the year!" Special guests who have confirmed as of this release include Raging Stallion Films favorite Michael Brandon (xxxmichaelbrandon.com), appearing in the Men’s Room from 8 to 10 p.m.; Crazy Horse headliner (May 12-15) Nautica Thorn, in the Mixed Room from 10 p.m.; and Bombshell Betty plus other exotic entertainment by Cayenne, Lili Marlene, and Pixie and Colette, the Naughty Hottie Dancers, performing inspiringly in the Women’s Room and Mixed Room. Aural strokes by DJ Pusspuss throughout the evening. MCs include Carol Queen and Michelle Tea. Kim Airs of (Grand Opening!) will be one of several very special guests. While The Center for Sex & Culture does not encourage competitive sexual behavior as a matter of course, Masturbate-A-Thon participants who choose to do so can compete for four separate titles. They are: Longest Time Masturbating (we will allow five minutes per hour for water, food, and bathroom breaks; remember that the current record is over six hours, so participants aiming for this prize are suggested to register at 5 p.m.); Largest Group Wank (this refers to groups who register together and stay in their group; each member will receive a prize); Most Money Raised; and Most Orgasms (participants attempting this record can be assigned an Orgasm Recorder to count and validate orgasms, or they can bring their own volunteer to do so). Winners will be announced on site at the end of the event and at www.masturbate-a-thon.com after donations clear. They will receive prizes donated by Good Vibrations, Titan Media, Naked Sword and other companies. The Live Masturbate-A-Thon will be held at 245 8th Street in San Francisco. Doors open at 7 pm and the event must end at 2 a.m. Early registration is available for individuals desiring to compete for the Longest Time Masturbating award. Pre-registration is encouraged, but participants may bring filled-out pledge sheets directly to the event on May 15th. People are also encouraged to pledge themselves. Pledge sheets can be downloaded at http://www.masturbate-a-thon.com/pages/register.html. Registration at the door is $40.00; those who pre-register before May 10th can pay $34.50. Team registration (more than two people) is $69.00 regardless of number of people in the team. Registration checks should be made out to Center for Sex & Culture (or CSC) and be sent to CSC, 2215-R Market Street, San Francisco CA 94114. Registration includes a swag bag including a commemorative towel for the first 75 participants; everyone will receive an official certificate of participation. Registration is non-refundable, even if you are unable to masturbate. Funds from the Live Masturbate-A-Thon and from Good Vibrations’ private Masturbate-A-Thon will be used to rent the Center for Sex & Culture’s first library and classroom space in San Francisco. Man you Californians know how to have all the fun. That is probably the coolest thing that I've ever heard of. I take it thats the legendary Lili Marlene who appeared in a lot of 80's porn? I wouldn't be surprised if Lili went home with a few of those trophies. That women looked like she could cum for days.

Ahhhhh, 'Dog....heheh...maybe I should remind 'ya that this is a month long activity, and that I'm pretty sure that there will be countless other "masturbate-a-thons" going on throuout the country...so I don't think that Cali will be alone by any means.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that there will be a Masturbate-a-Thon in my neck of the bayou...but nevertheless, I will make my contribution to the great cause through plenty of....ummm, sticky wet dreams this month. (If Michael comes through with those flicks of Nina doingher trusty "Turbo Grind", I may even decide to place a bid or two.
